Know the Code, Know the Price
What’s in a Code?
The simple answer? Probably more money. But, Why?
For many decades buyers and sellers of Scrap Catalytic Converters have used something called “Categories” to organize the type and value of Converters. You can see a sample of the “Categories” on our own “Scrap Catalytic Converter Price List” page. Since there are so many different Catalytic Converters, as an example, categories like “Small Breadloaf” and “Large Breadloaf” were created to separate and value the two size differences. But in the process something unfortunate happened. The categories became so large that a higher value converter could be bought as a low value unit. Or, on the other hand, a low value unit could be sold at a higher category price. This tends to create a “Shell Game” that benefits only those that have first hand knowledge of values. It’s no fun to lose money when you don’t have to.
Here is an example of a “Large Breadloaf” with the code of:
25176615
Which would you rather have?
A “Category” price of:$80.00 to $90.00 or a “Code”price of $185.00?
Not all prices are so dramatic, but, you can get an idea of what you are missing out on if you continue the selling by “Category” game.
